The challenge
Deliver Australia's first 3D printed government social housing on a vacant block in Dubbo for the Aboriginal Housing Office, more homes, sooner, for the people who need them.
The solution
We printed the structural walls for two modern two-bedroom homes, working with Indigenous builder Aboriginal Sustainable Homes and the NSW Government. Dubbo Regional Council approved the development application in July 2024.
Printing & technology
Around 135 tonnes of ContourCrete printed the walls over 21 days of print time. ContourCrete's ~40% recycled content and high thermal rating keep the finished homes cheaper to run.
Delivery & results
The full programme ran to approximately 16 weeks against roughly 40 for conventional construction. The finished homes were opened with the NSW Premier and Housing Minister.
