The challenge
Print a compact pool cabana live on a television build site, with the finish coming straight off the printer rather than a later render coat.
The solution
The walls were printed in ContourCrete on the slab, so the openings and the corners came off the printer rather than being framed and formed. What would normally be a small carpentry job became a print.
Printing & technology
The cabana took around 4 days of print time and 15 tonnes of ContourCrete, printed live through Victorian rain and snow.
Delivery & results
A compact finished structure with the ribbed printed surface as the final architectural finish, not a substrate for a render coat, delivered on one of the most unforgiving weather tests on-site printing gets.
