The challenge
Prove printing could work outside the factory, live on a television build site, in the Macedon Ranges through Victorian winter weather.
The solution
We printed columns along the Tree Change house's front elevation on site, with the layer lines left as the finish rather than rendered over.
Printing & technology
The columns took around 2 days of print time and 10 tonnes of ContourCrete, printed live through Victorian rain and snow.
Delivery & results
Our first build outside the factory, and early proof that on-site printing could hold up in difficult weather. Two further printed pieces went in on the same site: a pool cabana and a garden bed.
