CONTOUR3D IS SET TO DELIVER 3D PRINTED SOCIAL HOUSING

Contour3D, in partnership with the NSW Government, which has engaged Aboriginal Sustainable Homes (ASH), is set to build the first social housing property in Dubbo, NSW.

Contour3D is stepping up to address the pressing social housing crisis by providing 3D concrete printing technology to NSW Government and Aboriginal Sustainable Homes (ASH) to construct the first social housing property of its kind in the state.

With its 3D concrete printing technology, Contour3D is poised to significantly reduce costs and construction time, offering a promising solution to provide homes sooner for those in urgent need.

“We are honoured to be partnering with the NSW Government and ASH Group to deliver these 3D Printed homes. We are excited to watch the build unfold and look forward to working closely with the Government on future projects using modern methods of construction.”

Designed and manufactured in Australia, Contour3D’s 3D printing technology is set to deliver two-bedroom duplexes that will provide Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) tenants with a safe and secure place to call home. Indigenous company Aboriginal Sustainable Homes (ASH) has been contracted to deliver the new, fast, and cost-effective project. Construction is expected to be completed within 16 weeks, unlike traditional construction methods, which take approximately 40 weeks.

Contourcrete by Contour3D will be used to print this project. It is an environmentally friendly construction material with a high recycled content and is designed to be tough and durable. Contourcrete also has a high thermal rating, which creates a more energy-efficient home with substantially reduced life cycle maintenance costs.

“Using cutting edge technology for this project is a prime example of the NSW Government’s commitment to ‘think outside the box’ by exploring every possible option when it comes to delivering more housing for those who need it”

“Utilising Modern Methods of Construction like this 3D printing technology is critically important to delivering social and affordable homes sooner, especially in regional and remote areas.”

“Our government is leading the way with this project. The construction of a 3D social housing property is the first of its kind in the country. For it to be led by the AHO reflects their dedication to exploring new and efficient ways of building more quality homes for the community”

“The success of this project will help to determine whether this construction method becomes one of the many ways we can deliver more social housing right across the state in a bid to help us tackle the growing crisis”.
